Vandersteen 2W Subwoofer in good condition and works seamlessly with the Vandersteen 2CE Signature speakers that I also have listed for sale. The finish is walnut and the grill cloth is black. Both are in good condition with some slight marks on the top of the subwoofer. See the photos for the condition. The sound is extremely good with tight bass without booming. It is a powered subwoofer with its own amplifier. This was purchased in 2005 and then was packed in its factory box after less than a year of use when I moved and had no room to set up the system. It was unpacked and set up in 2023 after I moved again. Selling because I have bigger speakers and no longer have the room for this stereo system. Physical Condition: 8.5 / 10 -The wood top needs a little sanding and restaining. -There is a small hole on the top grill but barely noticeable. -There is some rust on the feet. This Vandersteen 5a has been checked and tested by John Rutan (leading Vandy dealer in the US). We got this in on a trade and had it checked by a Vandy professional to make sure everything in it is working as it should be. Drivers, external crossovers, batteries, internal amp, etc. everything is in perfect working order. There are some fine cracks in the driver cabinet, but according to John and Mr. Vandersteen himself, they said this is normal and this means that their interior cabinet design is working as it should to reduce cabinet resonance that they want removed. This speaker retailed for $16,000I have original boxes, but freight shipping will not be cheap... Local pick up is HIGHLY recommended.This is available for demo if needed.
