These M-80s sound amazing, and is now fully functional. The output stages and main capacitors are all good and stock, as are the drivers. I tested full power into 4 ohms and prior to clipping gave me more than 547 watts into 4 ohms (both channels driven). At 8 ohms, it pumps out 287 watts before clipping. Up for sale is a Yamaha Natural Sound M85 power amp in good, working condition condition The M-85 amps were very well regarded for their build quality, distinct red stacking meters and the fantastic sound quality. It has Class A circuitry which provides one of the cleanest power sources that’ll allow you to easily drive Snells, Mangepanz and Kappas and other “hard to drive” speakers with ease. It has a few small scuffs and scratches but overall it looks great on the shelf and those large, digital red meters are a real treat. I’ve cleaned the speaker selector switches, output pots and ohm selector switches with Deoxit/Fader Lube but every else is 100% original & untouched Due to the black finish, dust is very noticeable and makes it difficult to take a very clear picture, especially in direct sunlight. The face does have some small scratches but once out of direct light the faceplate finish looks even and all of those blemishes vanish. You can see it in the first picture from the left side vs right side As long as I’ve owned the amp, I’ve never had any problems with it but the ohm selector switches can sometimes fail to latch on the first try when pushed. They might take 3-4 pushes and they’ll latch but it’s just something I’ve noticed. I’ve looked at them internally and there’s no broken parts so it could just be a faulty switch design, weak spring, etc. Perreaux Model 1130 amps had a similar issue with a faulty switch so it does happen. Unless you plan on swapping out your speakers on a semi frequent basis, this will never be a problem or issue. They’ve never not latched but I couldn’t sell the amp without letting potential buyers know.
