With the Yamaha updates, this essentially is identical to the M-85 electronically and functionally. The dreaded corrosive glue issue with these units has been addressed and mitigated. I replaced Diodes/ capacitors/ resistors to mitigate the corrosive glue issue with these amplifiers. These M-80s sound amazing and is now fully functional. The output stages and main capacitors are all good and stock, as are the drivers. I tested full power into 4 ohms and prior to clipping gave me more than 547 watts into 4 ohms (both channels driven). At 8 ohms, it pumps out 287 watts before clipping. Sounds amazing, soft, delicate, detailed. The C80 has been serviced and found to be in good working order. All knobs/ switched were serviced and work great. I made no repairs to this pre-amp, didnt need it. Both units work well and produce that classic 80s Yamaha Sound that we all love.

This Yamaha was an Estate find. I tested it for sound and it worked out of all the speaker terminals. As you can see the ones on the left are loose and when I opened it, they appear to have the plastic part broken off. Please see pictures.
