Vintage Phase Linear 400 Series Two Power Amplifier Factory rated at 210 watts per channel purchased by me on June 29, 1979 at a cost of $535.00 (Big money back then!). Amplifier has been meticulously taken care of (see photos) since day one and only moved (using factory box - see photos) 4 times. For its initial 10 years it powered my JBL 166 Horizon speakers and for the next 30 years it powered my JBL 4412 speakers and presently has been sitting on the same equipment shelf for past 30 years and most recently used to power my JBL 100 Classic speakers. Amplifier is ALL ORIGINAL and has never had the need to be serviced! In fact it still has the original fuses from the factory. The top plate has been removed by me a couple of times over the years to blow out dust. Amplifier is in Full working condition and both Volume knobs work smoothly and quietly. Both Meters work perfectly. Perfect candidate for a modern up grade (e.g. White Oak Audio) and then maybe it will last for another 45 years :-) Note: I’ve always utilized a Phase Linear Fan Kit to keep the amplifier running as cool as possible - but a fan is probably only needed for Demanding low efficiency 4 ohm speakers. Fan kits are available on e-bay. Amplifier will be shipped in it’s Original Factory Box (see photos) and an additional “Double box” will be used to help avoid damage to the original Factory Box in shipping. I have for sale a Phase Linear 4000 Autocorrelation Preamplifier. Shows some nicks and scratches but overall it’s in good cosmetic condition. Please inspect photos carefully as they form part of the description. Estate sale find so I don’t know too much about the unit. Plugged it in and heard a click but no lights and no sound. There was a very loud pop when the “PK Unlimit DN Expand” switch was flipped but it seemed to have subsided. It may come back though. No further testing had been done. Missing all the knobs but the levers tips all seem to be present. Also missing one rubber feet on the bottom. The potentiometer's shafts are also very stiff to turn. Given the issues and very limited testing, this unit is sold STRICTLY AS-IS for parts or restoration. Please message me if you have any questions.
