Kenwood Basic C2 Preamplifier This preamp has been powered up and is producing output in both channels but there is an issue with the balance control that causes intermittent sound in one channel. Wiggling the Balance control or tapping the chassis above the Balance control sometimes corrects the problem. There are a few cosmetic blemishes along the top edge of the faceplate but they are not terribly noticeable from most angles. This preamp is sold as-is for parts or project use only. Wonderfully sounding preamp. Kenwood Basic C1 Fully tested and played with multiple sources. One of the better preamps I’ve ever heard. All functions working properly and static free. Cabinet has a few tiny marks/ scratches. Face is very clean. One issue: The power cord has been taped down by the plug. I took the tape off and pictured is the raw repair of the cord someone made. I properly retaped with a quality electrical tape ( see pix) However I recommend simply replacing the plug end with a new one. To be safe. It works flawlessly now, but I’d change it.
