This Kenwood L-07C preamplifier is in wonderful condition. All controls and functions work properly. Over the years, I have had this Kenwood maintained and cleaned a few times. As with any 45 year old electronic device, sometimes some light static may occur when initially using a specific control. This preamplifier does sound wonderful. As with all of Kenwood’s Supreme offerings, the L-07C is warm sounding, and very detailed. This preamp has some light scuffs and scratches from normal use over the last 45+ years. Item partially works, but was returned for reported inconsistent functionality with output volume. Some light scuffing from general use. The dark spots on the bottom appear to be finger smudges from engine oil. This was likely used in a shop. Item was cleaned and polished before photos, so its as clean as possible! This Kenwood Basic C-1 preamplifier has been fully recapped and upgraded. OPAMPs have been upgraded and are now socketed for ease of OPAMP rolling. The opamps installed are JRC NJM4580DD and NJM2068DD .All the Zenner diodes, were changed out,, all the lesser ceramic capacitors for c0g,,, replaced electrolytic caps with fresh Nichicon and Panasonics,,, bipolar in signal path. Replaced small film caps, they are Kemet polypropylene now. Replaced the output relay as well. This modification of this can be found on AudioKarma.
