In the last year the following restorative work was performed; All seven boards were recapped. All capacitors used were Nichicon audio grade. All problematic 2SC1451 transistors were replaced/upgraded. Power supply was calibrated and relay replaced. The Loudness control does not work. Everything else does. The original pot had failed, and direct replacements havent been available for many years. The best replacement that could be found enables everything else to work except the loudness function. The quality of this setup should negate the need for a loudness function. Please check my feedback,my stereo equipment is always accurately and honestly described and always gets positive reviews. A full-control unit, the Basic C1 is fully up to the high standards set by its partner, the Basic M1 power amplifier. It contributes clarity, smoothness and the ability to process the most varied and dynamic program material with accuracy. Now that high quality MC cartridges are becoming more affordable, the freedom to select a cartridge to suit the needs of the music is an important advantage in a preamplifier. I acquired it about 15 years ago and have used it with a huge system. This Preamplifier has seven inputs for various equipment all have been used and are in working condition including full tape dubbing capabilities and a great Phono stage with adjustable cartridge settings. Headphone Jack with adjustable output level - Bass and Treble Tone controls with two Turnover settings - Subsonic,Low and High Filters. Loudness Button - Stereo -Mono Switch. Prior to disconnecting the amp there was little static from the selector switch. I have removed the top and Detoxed all the switches prior to packing the unit. It have not been retested but should work fine. All Selector Indicator Lights Work.
