Powers on and display works but doesnt play a CD. Shows LOAD after inserting a CD, then when press Play, it shows READING followed by ERROR I bought this 15 years ago. At that time, the drawer would not open/close as the gear was broken so I removed that (i will include the 3 pieces of it) and attahced a piece of gaffers tape to open the drawer manually. At that time I got it to play sometimes but not to record. Now it now longer plays. The key caps on the Play and Stop buttons are missing, but the switches work but no lights. Heavy construction with cast aluminum frame. Weighs 24 pounds Cosmetically nice except for the 2 missing key caps. Made in Belgium.

It DOES PLAY SOME DISCS, others it struggles with. This is due to tracking issues, it will start a track skip and go to back or forward. SCREEN BACKLIGHT BURNED OUT. That’s why it’s listed as parts, I couldn’t find a new optical laser and you can just adjust the lasers pot, but it’s kinda shady as it might only last a bit so I never do. The deck was serviced by a technician. He replaced some capacitors but unfortunately the laser is bad on it. It played a cd shortly and started to skip and quit reading cds. I managed to take a picture for the listing when it was playing. The mechanism works fine, 2 belts replaced. The display is fine( some dust). Cosmetically in very acceptable condition with scratches as pictured. If youd find a laser pickup from a Carver DTL (100, 200 etc) or Yamaha CD-X2 youd have a nice vintage player.
