PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION This is my Yamaha CX-2000 pre-amp that I purchased new in 1989 or 1990. I forget exactly when, but around that time. It has served me extremely well, and I have loved it for these past 35 years. I would still be using it, but I have grown tired of sending it for service. The left channel is out…again. It has been worked on twice for a cracked solder connection, which is a relatively simple repair, but this time, I believe something different is wrong, as wiggling the output RCA jack has no affect. The left side started fading out a few minutes after being turned on, and increasing the volume would bring it back. I though I had it traced to a scratchy balance pot, because that used to bring it reliably back if it ever cut out. It now no longer does, and I lack the knowledge, patience, and equipment to further troubleshoot. There is also no longer a local place I can bring it in for repair, and I don’t want to ship back and forth. I have reason to believe the repair should be a simple one, as this was a gradual decline in the output over time, NOT a poof and done. :) no smoke, nothing burned up. Right side is totally fine, fully working. This has a million ins and outs for various audio and video. I never used the video side. I am assuming that all works, but it has never been used.
