Hi,I am listing a set of Thiel TM3 Bookshelf Speakers with stands. For accuracy sake, I am showing them as used because the seal has been broken on the boxes solely for inspection purposes. They are in Pristine condition and have not been listened to nor have the stands ever been assembled. These are beautiful speakers in black lacquer, absolutely gorgeous. From my understanding anytime black lacquer is used it generally means automotive paint has been applied. Reason for selling is I listen to my music on a desktop setup and as you can see they are 17 high so they are a bit much for desktop. I in fact had a second pair at one time I used in my desktop setup to stream movies with over my iMac and listen to music. I found them to be truly great sounding speakers with more than sufficient bass. I sold those and kept this pair (new) in the box in a closet for some years and have since purchased several smaller speakers (I have more than i need) that I am happy with and are a better fit on a desktop so i am selling these. Thiel CS 1.6 floorstanding speakers in excellent condition. Original drivers in great condition, no issues. The dustcover on the woofers were pushed in a bit but I was able to pull them out with duct tape, but you can still see a crease if you look hard enough. But the dustcovers are not torn or ripped at all. The veneer on the speakers is in great condition, beautiful walnut finish (real wood). These have the typical and wonderful Thiel sound, very articulate with tight but not overpowering bass. Ive owned the 1.2, 1.5 and 3.5 models, and these are (IMHO) definitely an improvement over the 1.2 and 1.5. The 3.5, due to there size and 3-way design, might have an edge for higher-volume listening, but at moderate levels I like the 1.6 the best. These are 4 ohm speakers. The design is advanced from the 1.5 it replaced, a cnc machine was used to carve out the front baffle to optimize dispersion. The grill is magnetic and fits into a depression for a seamless look. Very cool. In addition, you will notice the long vertical slot acting as a reflex port. These are really great and modern looking speakers.From Stereophile:The 6.5 woofer, designed and manufactured in-house, uses a 3 voice-coil to drive the metal cone closer to its perimeter than usual. (2) THIEL CS 7.2 Speakers. Best is to Google the model and read about it. Very Good working condition. Sadly I must downsize. MSRP was $13,500. Needs a high current Amp to drive them. On last home move the movers damaged the bottom and on 1 speaker the foot is broken and a screw was added to keep the front trim piece on. Will include the 8 feet, but we use them without the feet. Could be repaired if desired to add back that foot. Too heavy to ship. Local pick up (or maybe delivery) only. To power these speakers we also have a McIntosh MC 252 and a C48 preamp for sale.
