Shure M55E Cartridge Bought a 80’s model entry level Turntable a couple years ago that had a sure M55E cartridge with no stylus. I got a cheap stylus off Amazon to make sure it worked before spending money on a good stylus. It does indeed work and sounds super good with such a cheap stylus. Seems to have a lot more output than the Ortofon Red I’ve been using. It’s mounted on a Toshiba headshell which I’ll throw in as well as the stylus since it’s all mounted.

I have been involved in turntable set up and use for 50 years. I have a plethora of vintage phono cartridges that I will be posting on eBay. The stylus is intact with wear, cantilever/suspension working, but IMO it will need replacing. The coils measure good at .630 ohms for left channel and .634 ohms on right channel multimeter set at 2K range. Cosmetically the metal body shows some marks on the side from mounting hardware, the plastic body is ok with signs of handling, no cracks or broken pieces.
