The original multibit version of the Schiit Bifrost. This is a very warm and spacious sounding DAC. The USB card was upgraded to USB 5 which is a large jump over the original USB card. This item is in used condition, so expect some signs of wear. This includes a power cable, but no usb cable.

For sale is a Schiit system consisting of three components: Syn surround sound preamp (5.1), Bifrost 2/64 DAC, and Gjallarhorn stereo power amp. Im the original owner of the Syn and Gjallarhorn, and the Bifrost came from my audiophile brother. All components are in excellent condition cosmetically and operationally. No known flaws. The Syn and Bifrost are 1 year old, and the Gjallarhorn is 8 months old. I love this system! Dont let the price of the components fool you. This is a audiophile-grade system point blank. My summary of these components: Syn: What Ive always wanted: An audiophile grade preamp that can deliver realistic music surround on occasion using live 2-channel recordings and ambiance extraction. IMHO, ambiance extraction is the only way to deliver quality music surround. The Syns surround performance transported me to the live event on several recordings. FYI: The included ESS 9018 DAC with custom output stage is a very nice bonus given the Syns price point. Bifrost 2/64: IMHO, one of the best bang for the buck DACs on the market, period. Though my brother decided to go with another DAC, by his own admission he paid over 2K for a ~ 15% subjective improvement in performance. For me personally, I wouldnt shop for more. Gjallarhorn: In short, a super-clean, super-transparent mighty mouse power amp that sounds a lot more powerful than its 10 WPC would suggest. So long as your speakers are 90 Db efficient or more, I suspect you can play your music as loud as you like without strain from the Gjallarhorn. Its also a nice touch and it can be bridged to a 30 wall monoblock. Selling this peace of Schiit. The USB port was burned once, so I purchased the Unison USB card for $150 and installed it. A year later the USB port now is physically busted. Sometoimes when I move it around it works but most of the time does not. This is a US version that needs 120V. European 240V will blow the fuse out (I learned it the hard way). I think I still have a bunch of fuses laying around. I ll include them if I find them. So if you need parts for your schiit, here it is. You can also replace the USB card for 150 and it will work fine. But make sure to use voltage converter. Originally bought for $600 in the US.

Selling my silver 115v Bifrost 2. This is not the newer 2/64 version. It is the original Bifrost 2. I purchased it new in October 2019. It’s been a great DAC. I’m moving on because I’m doing more recording lately and it’s easier to use my interface for all my music needs. Does not include the remote. I never used it and lost it years ago. Cosmetically it’s in good shape. No deep scratches I could find. The power switch on the back has some play to it but functions as it should.
