Ive included a .jpeg of the original sales ticket (2014) and also the upgrade board added in 2017. I love this DAC, which Ive used with different equipment for the past 10 years. It has a really beautiful sound with lots of detail. So why am I selling it? Im 72 now, and Ive downsized to a smaller house, with smaller rooms and less equipment. About 6 or 7 years ago I ripped all my CDs at full size to my Mac mini, running my music library off of an external drive. BUT the sounds section of the System Settings of the Mac mini would not always recognize the Bifrost DAC. So for years everything was fine. But, once I moved to this new neighborhood and house, I started having trouble. Id be using it for months, then Id loose power to the house, and everything would shut down. When I went to fire everything up again, the MAC wouldnt always see the DAC. The problem was that it also wasnt consistent. Sometimes the Bifrost would show up, other times it wouldnt connect. Im not sure if it was upgrades in the MAC OS or the USB cables, or something else. So if youre running a MAC mini as your music server, be warned, you might have issues. If your using another device or one of the other inputs, you should have no problems whatsoever. I combined this DAC with tube equipment downstream and had absolutely beautiful music for years.
