Immaculate condition. This is essentially the Metrum Onyx DAC with the addition of a quality pre amplifier. All original packing, remote control. Just over a year old. Nearly a year warranty period remaining. A very good DAC usually retails at £3,199. 4 x DAC3 modules which are the latest and currently unavailable versions of their DAC modules. It features an advanced custom PLL (Phase Lock Loop) circuit designed for extremely efficient jitter cancellation. Even the highest jitter levels are almost completely suppressed. The Crystek CVHD-957 VCXO clocks in the device are responsible for recovering the digital signal and reclocking it. However, this function can be deactivated, allowing the performance of this system to be observed. I have for sale a gently used and wonderfully functional Denafrips Ares II. It works exactly as designed and sounds great. I will transfer the remainder of the 3 year factory warranty (21 months left) to the new owner by emailing Vinshine (per their process). That way you have piece of mind with your purchase. Denafrips has a service center in Buda, TX should you need to exercise the warranty. I have successfully updated the firmware on this unit twice now. The first time was from the original factory firmware to the 12th Anniversary firmware, then again to a revised version of the 12th Anniversary firmware with improved midrange and bass performance (most recent firmware release). I am only selling this Ares II due to a recent upgrade to a Pontus II. Denafrips DACs are awesome. I am not accepting returns with this DAC as the warranty is only transferable one time. Please be certain of compatibility with your system and your desire for this DAC prior to purchase. There are a multitude of reviews available online describing this DACs performance.
