Up for sale is a used Denafrips Ares ii dac i purchased from ebay about two months back. The unit came to me with a small imperfections one on the front panel and one stripped screw that i will place electrical tape over so it is easily identifiable. because of these imperfections im rating this dac a C+ cosmetically but an (A) for functionality and sound quality. Barely used Ares II purchased directly from vinshine audio in 7/21. This DAC was in my 2nd system and barely used (maybe 2-3 months?). This is because I liked the sound so much I purchased a Pontus II and then a Terminator. So the Ares II has been sitting in a box in my closet for quite awhile. I need to clear out space for new equipment (you know how it goes!). It functions flawlessly and there are no notable scratches. Sounds great! I will include an AC power cord upon buyer request.

Since mine is used, of course I’m selling it for much less that that. However, it hasn’t given me any problems since I bought it used but in like-new condition from TMR Audio a little over a year ago—it still works and looks great and I’ll pack it in the original box, with the same packing materials used by TMR when they sent it to me. The only (very) minor issue I’ve had with this DAC is that I couldn’t get the included remote to work. I bought a generic SMSL remote as a replacement and this replacement remote has worked for me without any problems ever since. I’ll include both we the working replacement remote and the original remote with the DAC. There are 5 input options: USB, Digital Coaxial RCA, Digital Optical TOSLINK, AES/EBU and I2S. There’s also an option to use an external clock, if desired, although it already comes with an internal clock system that’s very good. I’ve mostly connected the USB input directly into my MacBook or Mac Mini, but I’ve also used the other inputs via a Singxer SU-6 DDC.
