He purchased directly from Vinshine. It was brand new when I purchased it about 4-6 weeks ago. I was told that updating the firmware would be worthwhile. I contacted Vinshine to get instructions to update the firmware, I was able to update the firmware to the latest version. It was worth the time to do so. It sounded even better after the update. Updates can be rolled back as well. FYI. This Dac sounds great, so much so I want to move up to the next level to see what is possible. It has an analog sound is how I would describe it. I have always played records, this has opened up my Cd collection into the listening rotation. There should be a factory warranty, it has never been registered. Sold as described. Unit is in excellent condition and comes with a power cable.
