This is a great vintage stereo amplifier.Rated at 100 wpm but can produce enormous short term power when necessary. (Search YouTube for tests!)I refreshed this amp within the last year: So many other listings say their unit has been tested or serviced.Its typically not true - cleaned is not synonymous with serviced. Electrolytic Capacitors have been replaced and upgraded (with the exception of the four big caps, which tested fine).New relay installed.New chassis mount RCA inputs installed.These are a well known issue with this model. If you are looking at other offerings, make sure that the upgrade has been done,otherwise eventually your amp will have intermittent audio - possibly damaging your speakers.New Green LED lamps installed in the meters and power switch.Professionally powder coated cover.I have a different cover that has been stripped. I would reduce the price of this transaction by $50 if the buyer prefersto have me install/ship the unit with the stripped cover. I have not had the opportunity to have it powder coated. The faceplate has faded a bit - this common.The top of the faceplate has some small scratches, most likely from when gear was placed on top of it.I still have another unit in my system... need to lighten up the collection. Even though I have refreshed, tested this unit - due to the nature of vintage electronics - this is an AS IS sale.

Rare and in near perfect condition combination of Proton D1200 stereo power amp and 1100 Pre-amplifier, both items in perfect working order, cases are in mint condition, not scratched in any way and the clear front faceplate on the D1200 is absolutely immaculate. I am only selling because I moved onto collecting 1970’s silver faced equipment vs black 1980’s gear. If you have proactively searched for this very rare pre/power amp combination then you need no explanation - however, this is a highly attractive set featuring massive Dynamic Power on Demand circuitry that provides a quite extraordinary dynamic headroom of 7.3dB…translating into independent tests that demonstrate some of the highest power outputs seen in this type of equipment. Google “HiFi Classic.net” review for full specs but noteworthy that they measured bursts of close to 600w RMS per channel into 8ohm speaker loads, and well over 1000w per channel into 4ohm loads. Proton D540 Integrated Amplifier. NO sound SOLD AS IS. It coming out of protection very clean unit

Tuner section is not operable. Removed the AM antenna from the rear. Scratchy pots after sitting for a while, goes away after use. Otherwise sound pretty nice. Both A and B channels work. Great as a preamplifier. Has pre outs.
