On board is Pioneers proprietary 1-Bit Direct Linear Conversion Bitstream DAC, which delivers a beautifully open, detailed and analogue-like sound quality. A very lush sounding player indeed. Its difficult to find examples of this model of Pioneer in such good condition these days. Hello. Here is for sale one excellent Audiophile quality real Japan made CD Player made by Pioneer, Japan, model Elite PD-65. This model features famous Stable Platter mechanism and an internal Legato Link DAC. Stable Platter requires you to insert CD upside down since laser mechanism located above not below CD as in regular players. Legato Link DAC is excellent and gives you the best analog sound from a digital source. Player has both RCA output to connect directly to the preamp and Digital Coaxial to connect to outboard DAC. I always preferred analog output on this one, but your taste might be different. I am the second owner,bought it about 5 years ago as a back up player and used it in my secondary system with excellent results. It does sound awesome. Since I am no longer actually listening to CDs (I ripped them all onto Hard drive and mostly listening to vinyl these days) it is time to sell it.The unit is in excellent working condition,the loading mechanism has a new drive belt. The unit in excellent cosmetic condition for its age, with no major flaws, it has a small ding on the back left corner of the wooden panel which you cannot see if the unit is in the rack. Unit features copper chassis. I do not have original box and manual(it is really self explanatory). It has an option to disconnect one of the outputs and chose to use only Analog or Digital output,or both simultaneously. You can also switch the display Off. I am including a remote from E.A.D. player(they both use Pioneer mechanisms and remotes are compatible for both brands. Remote shows signs of wear and missing some small parts of plastic(see attached pictures),but fully functional. Power cord is attached. I will safely pack for shipping,but will prefer local pick up due to fragility of the unit. This unit is for 120V operation,and works as it should. It has been pulled from working system. There is also a light haze on the plastic, I was able to wipe some of it off, some of it may need a little more work. There are also some dust scratches in the plastic. On a 10 scale, with 10 being mint new, this is probably a 7/7.5 - signs of use cosmetically. For sale is the Japan-only Pioneer PD-T05, the most affordable model Pioneer released that incorporates the famous high-end magnetic stable platter mechanism, the same found in the PD-75 and PD-95. It is roughly equivalent to an upgraded version of the PD-65, as the PD-65 has the much cheaper plastic mechanism. Plus: dual transformers, duals DACs, beautiful brushed aluminum front, optical/coaxial digital outputs. 22 pounds of quality.This is from my collection of high-end Pioneer players. It has had the laser lens replaced, the optical pickup realigned, the platter bearing relubricated, the rubber disc mat replaced, and the open/close gears cleaned/realigned. As a result it operates beautifully, reading all discs I have quickly and quietly and without any issues. The great thing about these players is that unlike others of the time, their lasers rarely if ever fail--and indeed, this units laser output measures perfectly. Plus, it sounds great.The physical condition is excellent with minor signs of use. There are a couple very small scratches/dings on back of the top and sides of the steel case, but nothing that stands out to me--see photos. Also, the plastic piece around the disc platter is scuffed and a bit sticky, but this is generally not visible.Includes original remote, manual, and disc mat.As a Japan-only model, this unit is designed to run on 100V power--so although it might tolerate 120 volts, it is better to run it with a step-down transformer in North America.For shipping, the unit will be professionally packaged and the pickup will be locked prior to shipment. (This is essential when shipping these players as otherwise the pickup can be damaged by sliding back and forth on its track.)

This well regarded CD player is sought after by audiophiles. From the Elite line, the transport is rock solid. The unit has RCA, Digital and Optical outputs. This was the top of the line Pioneer CD Player when it was introduced.
