Cosmetically it’s in very nice shape, only minor wear. It looks even better than the photos in person. Great for parts or repair. The CD drawer is quiet and smooth, but it does not read discs. I am aware discs need to be label side down and I tried a few to be sure. It might only need a new laser, I can’t tell without taking it apart and I’m not a technician. Selling AS IS since it is not fully functioning. No returns.

Here is an iconic 90’s pioneer CD player with the legendary stable platter mechanism, where you insert the disc upside down on a turntable platter. This model is very similar to the famous pioneer pd-65 but smaller and simpler, sounding identical to my ears (I own a pd-65) but for less than half the price. This model has a unique warm vinyl-like sound characteristic of the elite stable platter series of the time. This particular example is fully working; it reads and plays cd’s flawlessly, fast forwards and rewinds, and sounded great when I tested it with my sound system. Cosmetically, it is also great with just some minor scratches. Simply insert the disc upside down, press play and your good to go! Pioneer Elite PD-65 CD Player w/remote. Working. Original owner. Very good cond. CD Player / Transport. Back in the day in 1994 this was one of the best available CD players on the market. I am the original owner and this unit is still in use in my two channel home system and works perfectly. These were built like a tank and are still in demand as a high quality transport. Although the installed onboard DAC was no slouch in its day a modern quality external DAC will provide improved sound reproduction. It has a capacitor mod on the analog output for each channel. Item will be shipped at buyers expense in the original box and packing materials (see photos.) Local pick up can also be available in Zip 06029. Due to its age of almost 30 years I have to sell it as is although it is in my present system and is working 100 percent. Thank you for looking.
