A little know fact is when driving speakers more than 30 feet away just the resistance in the speaker wires adds a few ohms to the load that will protect this amp even with 3 or 4 pair of 8 ohm speakers being used. It is similar to pushing in an amp protection switch on a speaker switch box, without reducing the sound level by 3DB.
