Then I tried the beach landing scene from Saving Private Ryan and it felt like I was there. Even my wife commented on how good the bass sounded and felt. She usually doesnt care about or notice these things. Am I glad I bought this sub? At half the price of the Klipsch RT 10d and twice the sound quality. Selling my HSU Research VTF-HO subwoofer. This is a 12 inch side-firing woofer. This model came with the turbo charger, which was intended to allow lower frequencies with higher output. The turbo charger is probably a pretty rare find these days, so...neat? I guess. I have two toddlers and as they have become increasing more detrimental to physical objects around them, I have decided to bale on my home theater equipment before it is too late. I have the original plate amplifier and will include it with this sub unless you request otherwise. I believe it has a bad semiconductor. My friend and I took at look at it and began to work toward diagnosing the issue, but I have two toddlers and life is chaos. I replaced it with a 300 watt class D amplifier and made an MDF panel as an adapter for the smaller plate size. The original amp is 500 watts. Again, I have toddlers so I wasnt trying to rattle the foundation. It may not get as loud as the stock amp, but it produced plenty of bass and seemed to replicate the same frequencies (them chest rattles) when we used it for the rare movie night. The unit shows definite signs of use. It has been with me through two moves and it is noticeable. The unit doesnt look bad, but it does have scuffs and scratches on the laminate, especially on the corners. This thing is huge and heavy. Be warned. It is roughly 100 lbs and is the size of an end table. If using the wife appreciation factor as a measurement, it has a low score. The power cord and a 35 ft RCA sub cable are included with the sub. The original speaker cover is included, but my kids managed to break off two of the nubs last year. I thought about pulling the pieces of plastic out and fixing the cover, but, again, kids and chaos. Anyways. Im happy to take more photos if needed, just let me know. I have other home theater stuff for sale if interested. Willing to do some bundle stuff. Local pickup only for this because I reallllly dont want to ship this huge thing. Willing to deliver or meet somewhere in the region if it is a reasonable distance.
