The output is tremendous for a sealed subwoofer at this price point, and this sub qualifies for Audioholics’ Bassaholic ‘large’ room size rating (in other words it should be able to meet the target 115 dB peak in seating positions in a 3,000 cubic foot to 5,000 cubic foot room). The sub powers on, however, it sounds weak and distorted. It probable needs a rebuild of the main board. Selling my lightly used HSU Research VTF-3 MK5 Subwoofer. It is in great shape and have only had it for less than a year. It has a minor scuff on the top from the plant my girlfriend set on it. This thing has some serious power so I would advise NOT putting anything on it unless you expect it to move (I learned my lesson). This is a 15” front-firing ported subwoofer. For those who aren’t familiar with HSU Research, they are one of the best options for subwoofer within the $700 - $1300 mark — nobody beats their performance at this price range. I am also including an Auralex Acoustics SubDude-II Subwoofer Acoustic Isolation Platform.

HSU Research Model 500 subwoofer amplifier, in very good condition and works perfectly. This amp is excellent for powering an unpowered subwoofer or replacing a defective plate amp. The amp is stable into a 2 ohm load, so it can be used for a variety of woofers as well as powering two 4 ohm woofers connected in a parallel circuit. It produces 500 watts in a 4 ohm load and 800 watts in a 2 ohm load. It has never given me any problems in years of use. This amp was originally offered by HSU to power the TN-1220HO subwoofers. This amp was later replaced by the HSU Model 500a amp.
