I used the SCA-80Q integrated amp years ago for a quadraphonic setup, but have since gone back to normal stereo. The Dynaco SCA-80Q is an all silicon solid state stereo control amplifier of exceptionally high quality. It functions as a control center for all mono and stereo signal sources and provides output connections from two 40-watt power amplifiers for either two or four loudspeakers, as well as a front panel jack for stereo headphones. The amp has been unused for years, except for recent testing. I haven’t been able to take measurements on it, but all inputs work and sound good. The switches and controls needed some lubrication and de-noising, but they are quiet and functional. No parts have been replaced or needed it. See the photo of the manual for detailed specs. Power output is 80 watts per channel into an 8 ohm load with under 0.5% THD. IM distortion (the bad kind) is under 0.1% at any power level into an 8 ohm load, and decreases at lower power levels. This unit was assembled from a kit. I am an electrical engineer with long experience in high-reliability electronic assembly, and I know what I am doing. Note also that assembly is really the interconnection of pre-assembled factory-tested printed circuit boards to connectors, controls, power supply and switches on the chassis. The printed circuit boards containing the critical audio components are assembled and tested at the factory, and are not affected by the kit assembly process. This particular unit has serial number 21244428. The unit is cosmetically very good, with nice finish on the front and rear panels and a few scratches on the top, as shown in the photos. The chassis metal could use some polishing if you are inclined to do that. There is some residual dust inside that cannot be removed without a detailed cleaning. The package includes all documentation originally provided, including assembly/operation manual (includes schematic diagram) and pictorial assembly diagram. This unit would be perfect for refurbishing if you are inclined to do so, or great for use as is. It’s your choice at an Ebay price.
