The Carver CT-17 was one of the leading preamplifier/tuner designed for home audio systems. It features stereo L/R RCA audio inputs, Dolby Pro Logic surround sound formats, and Sonic Holography technology. The device has two channels and comes in black. The product was released in 1989. This unit has been lightly used. It includes the remote. There is some tape gum visible on the upper side of the chassis that can be cleaned w/ alcohol. The remote is perfectly functional, however the battery door needs additional tape to remain closed as the locking tabs on the remote battery door are compromised. There is no issue with the functionality of the remote beyond that issue.

I bought this CT 17 used for a preamp in my stereo system. It worked great as a preamp but the display for the tuner was blank. Since I had no use for the tuner, that was not a problem for me and I used it like that for years and it sounded great. Eventually, I replaced it with something newer and it was relegated to a closet until now. I believe the tuner worked but it would have been hard to find a station without being able to see where you are on the dial.I suppose you could just tune till you heard something you liked, not knowing what the station was but I never tried that because I just wasnt interested. At this moment, having sat for quite a while, I cant say what the working condition is. It turns on, powers up but that is as far as it goes.It worked fine when I last used it but I dont feel like tearing my current preamp out of my system to test it so I am selling it as needs repair since I know at least the tuner display did. Cosmetic condition is very good but operating condition is currently unknown.

Carver CT-17 Sonic Holography Tuner Preamplifier was in working condition until thurderfingers broke the power switch. The plastic cover lost a tab and is not included. The switch itself does not seem to be working. Includes remote.

Excellent working condition. Very good cosmetic condition with just a few minor signs of use. Remote not included. Will be boxed up very carefully for a safe trip.

This Carver 3Head CD player is in exceptionally good condition. We are selling it for the original owner who says he used it very little. The owner serviced audio and video electronics all his life. He actually bought this piece from us in the early 90s. He is retired now, and starting to sell off some of his equipment. Him, being a service tech, recently replaced the belts getting it ready to be sold. He also ordered a second set at that time. Includes remote (in really clean condition), owners manual, service manual, set of new belts. See picture for specs.
