This CC3 center channel from Aerial Acoustics works perfectly. It is finished in satin black and includes the grill, which is in very good shape. It does have a few relatively minor blemishes where the paint has rubbed off just a bit, including one on the top right corner and one on the top backside toward the middle (see pics), and a few scuffs on the bottom where it sits on a stand. Otherwise is in very good shape, with no dents or dings.This speaker sounds amazing, and was VERY positively reviewed when new (and continues to be well reviewed on the secondary market).Cost the equivalent of $4000 back in 2004.

Sony opted to use AKM AK DACs for sound processing in these early consoles, and it provides excellent sonic characteristics and a clean sound almost three decades after its release. Later models lost the high-quality DAC and the clean sound of the original. This unit, like the vast majority of first generation units, was made in Japan. MODDING PROCESS: As can be seen in the close up pictures of the audio section of the mainboard, all of the capacitors in the audio section of the mainboard have been replaced with equivalent Nichicon Fine Gold capacitors. With the exception of the Nichicon caps mentioned above, the entire console has been fully re-capped using Console5 capacitor kits. Console5 is a well-respected supplier of console modification, repair, and restoration parts and kits. Previously there were links here to the two specific kits used so interested buyers could examine them for themselves, but eBay in its infinite wisdom has decided that simply linking to a product used to refurbish these consoles violates the seller agreement. The jack that connects the power cord to the power board has been de-soldered and re-soldered, as this connection can fail overtime due to plugging and unplugging the power cord from the rear of the console. (Several places in this listing the phrase de-soldered and re-soldered is used. When stated, this means that all old solder has been completely removed, the surface cleaned, and then fresh solder used to complete the connections again.) While this process does have consistent results, they are dependent on the original condition and amount of yellowing on the shell. While the majority of it is non-functional on the PlayStation, it does allow you to play/pause (triangular button at the bottom), stop (rectangular button at the bottom), next track (R1), previous track (L2), fast forward (R2), and rewind (L2). When you power on the PlayStation with an audio CD inserted, it reads it and then goes to the CD player automatically, so all you need to do after it boots is to press start on the remote.
