I am an audio fan but in no way an expert. I’m having fun finding any older audio equipment and saving them from the junk pile. With that said, I am offering up this unit and it is sold as-is as I am testing it to the best of my abilities as a novice. I’ve been able to confirm that the AM/FM functions, 2. the A/B speakers functions, 3. all inputs work, 4. headphone jack does work, but the A/B buttons need to be turned off to isolate the audio to only the headphones. 5. All of the lights work great and are bright. Even the extender lights work. 6. The loudness button works. 7. This thing can ROCK!! The Not so GOOD 1. When moving the volume dial, there is is a lite scratching that you get from a unit of this age. Deoxit 5 can take care of that. 2. A couple of the springs that are attached to the speaker terminals are no longer attached securely. May require soldering a new terminal but I’m not sure. 3. Anything else I may have not discovered. Again this unit is vintage so please buy accordingly.

Marantz CD5005 CD player in good working condition, does not include remote but new ones can be bought on ebay for $10-$15, most all other functions work from the buttons on the front. This is an audiophile level CD player focused on sound quality more than bells & whistles, has digital outputs as well as analog. Sounds very good and noticeably better than the average lower priced CD player in my experience, lots of reviews online to support that as well. Please see pictures! This is fully tested, and it sounds great! The disc drive opens up smoothly, it plays the CD without a hitch or without any issues. The remote is a little worse for wear, it has some corrosion in the battery compartment, but I was able to clean it out enough to where it still works as it should. It is missing its battery cover. This will of course be packed extremely well to ensure a safe delivery to its new home, but additional insurance will be added to the package, at no extra cost to the buyer of course. This is a brand new old stock, sealed, Shure M97XE cartridge. This came from a closed audio store I bought out. These are getting very hard to come by since Shure went out of business. NOTE: The shrink wrap on the end with the bar code is partially split but not enough to open the end of the box, so I can tell its never been opened. See photo.

The antenna is in good condition with some cosmetic marks. (Please see the pictures for a closer look at the cosmetic condition). The only piece that has damage is the battery cover. It is made of metal, and the area where it attaches has some broken plastic pieces. It still fits and can easily be taped in place. Everything else is good with no cracked or broken plastic. The antenna takes two 9V batteries, and the test LED lights up when pressed. The cable and plug are in great shape. The top part is solid and rotates smoothly up to almost 180.
