WHAT IS IT?:Up for sale is my lovingly-used Sutherland Insight Phono Preamp. Im the first owner of this phono stage, having purchased it in 2017 from the dealer. Ive since kept it in my main listening room (pet and smoke-free). This is the original version of the Insight phono preamp, with the original switching power supply (Sutherland did not yet offer the upgraded Linear Power Supply at the time I purchased this). COSMETICS:The phono stage is in excellent cosmetic condition, with no detectable scuffs, scratches or dents to the main faceplace, and no marks on the main chassis either. FUNCTIONALITY:This phono stage is in perfect working condition. Id say it works just like new, except this has had hundreds of hours of break-in time, so it definitely sounds better than a new unit! Ive had the original pin jumpers set to 100 ohm loading and 55bB of gain (as you can see in the photos), so those parts of the signal path have had the most break in time.The design allows for Gain Settings from 40dB to 60dB in 5dB increments, and Loading of either 100, 200, 1k, 10k, or 47k ohms WHY IM SELLING:I upgraded to Sutherlands 20/20 phono stage with a linear power supply and true dual mono design and construction throughout the entire signal path. The extra $$$ for the 20/20 was worth it for the sonic improvement, so alas, the Insight needs to find a new home to help me finance more audio equipment purchases. On that note, if youre going back and forth trying to decide between an Insight and a 20/20, let me assure you that you will not regret spending more for the 20/20.
