Selling my Audio Research i50 integrated amplifier. This one has both the internal DAC and Phono modules added which makes it a do it all premium integrated tube amplifier. it is designed and manufactured in the USA. The current retail price of the I50 with DAC and Phono modules is $8500. The only other pre-owned one I currently see in the US is listed at $5500. If your looking for a audiophile one box solution then this is about as good as it gets. simply add a source and speakers and youll be in audio nirvana.  This one utilizes Tung Sol 6550 output tubes and Electro Harmonix 6922 pre-amp tubes. I am the second owner of this beautiful amplifier so Im not quite sure of the total number of hours on the tubes. The cost of replacement tubes for this amplifier is much more reasonable than many other high end tube amps. The overall condition is very good but there is some slight scratching on the glass just under the front left corner where the tube cage would sit if you choose to use it. Ive tried to show this in the last photo. Its really hard to see under normal lighting but wanted any buyer to be aware of it. This is a beautiful sounding amplifier that gives a nice blend somewhere in between a solid state and a hardcore traditional tube amplifier. I would classify the sound as detailed but not overly smoothed out. It puts out 50 watts per channel which will be more than sufficient to drive todays speakers with higher sensitivity ratings. If you have some less efficient speakers and you like to listen at extremely loud levels this may not be a good fit. One of the unique features of this amp is its full function remote control which includes power on and off. Its probably the only tube amp Ive experienced with this capability and I cant believe how much I liked this feature. The amp remembers the last volume for each input which is also a nice feature. I am a 60 year old audio enthusiast and the amp has been well cared for while in my possession. It comes from a non-smoking pet free home. As a hobbyist I am moving on to some different equipment and that is the reason for the sale.
