All controls have been cleaned with Deoxit, all functions have been gone thru and are working. Ive had this preamp paired with a Carver tfm-15 amp and a Yamaha M-60 power amplifier and this preamp sounds great. I always correct pack and ship all my electronics so they arrive with no issues, Ive always used FEDEX Home/Ground delivery with no problems... packaging with correct materials is key. YAMAHA C-4 Natural Sound Stereo Control Pre-Amplifier with Phono MM/MC Inputs. This pre-amp was acquired from the family of the original owner. It was the nucleus of an audiophile grade stereo system in the living room of a luxury home. Original owners manual is included. Thoroughly tested this pre-amplifier is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of using. And I have been doing this stereo thing for over 40 years. It has everything and anything you could possibly want in a stereo control center / preamplifier. The only thing I could find wrong with this unit is the lamp in the tone bypass switch is out. In all honesty, I would never open up a component of this magnitude just to replace an indicator lamp. I believe the expression that best describes my feeling is...I dont want to open up a can of worms. The switch still works perfectly and bypasses the tone controls, its just the lamp that illuminates the push switch is out. I tested this pre-amp in my Adcom system, and it made my whole system come alive. My B&W speakers never sounded so good. I am not going to split up my matching component system even though the Yamaha made it sound substantially better. Cosmetically there are a few pin head sized nicks on the case.
