This unit works. Reads CDs fast and plays back cleanly. Only coaxial output was tested. The CD tray will NOT open or close on its own. You can tilt the unit forward to open it or pry it open. Ive taken a picture of the one visible gear thats broken, but dont know what else might be wrong. You get exactly what you see! No remote. Great pre-owned condition with only minor signs of use.

The PS Audio Lambda is a dedicated CD transport. It utilizes the highly regarded Philips CDM-9 Pro mechanism - a mechanism which features a rigid silver alloy metal chassis and vibration-free brushless DC Hall effect motor. It makes use of a high definition glass optical path, in which a diffraction grating is utilized as a beam splitter; with attendantly lower information loss as a result. Digital servo correction and reduced moving mass of the pickup assembly contribute to enhanced playability; and a special vibration resistant elastomeric suspension significantly improves performance in the mechanical domain. Three separate low flux transformers and thirteen individual stages of regulation are utilized. All critical circuits receive exceedingly clean supply voltage; and they are isolated from one another to an extent rarely seen in CD playback. A full complement of CD playback functions is available either via front panel touch controls, or a hand held IR remote control supplied with the unit. on the Lambda's rear panel is a coaxial digital output and an AES/EBU output. its output is standard, and it is compatible with a outboard D to A processor. I’m the original owner. Unit and remote are in excellent working condition. Very minor blemishes on top of cover and are Bailey noticeable. The ON lettering left of tray and OPEN/CLOSE to the right have some fading, both are still visible and readable. This my own personal SACD transport which I purchased new and used for about 3 years in my listening room, which I have now dismantled to make another bedroom for family. I had it connected to a DirectStream DAC via the I2S output, and the results were just incredible! I had been ready to give away my 1000+ collection of Redbook CDs before I found this transport. With this, a very good Audioquest Vodka HDMI cable and the PS Audio DAC, my CDs were suddenly as good or better than my best records or streamed music. It is with deep regret that Im giving it up, but there are some medical issues that also must be addressed. I have the DAC and Audioquest Vodka-48 HDMI cable listed separately. I am missing the outer box because it was used to transport the DAC for warranty service, but I will cover the original inner box with cardboard or heavy paper to keep it looking nice. The current retail price on this is $7000. I traded in about $2000 worth of gear to get buy this. The unit is under transferable warranty until September 2024.
