Tonearm and assembly pulled from a J.A. Michell Transcriptor table. Purchased from the original owner who has not used the table in many years but said it was working the last time he used it. I have altered this lot to a straight auction with no reserve for this stunning Transcriptor Skeleton Turntable with MIDAS Speed Control.This beautiful turntable has been sympathetically converted to DC speed control with True Point Audios highly specd MIDAS two speed control unit which sell for £895, it also includes DC motor, all neatly fitted by True Point Audio. Also included is a copy of the manual, and an acrylic armboard for an SME 3009 tonearm (tonearm not included). I do not want to ship this because there is a lot of glass, so Im afraid it is buyer collect.

This J.A. Michell turntable platter is a rare and original part, perfect for anyone in need of a replacement. Metal has some wear as shown in photos. Transcriptor Hydraulic Reference turntable. This is a David Gammon Transcriptors turntable rather than a JA Michell version. Its previously had a Mission 774 arm fitted to it and the riser for this remains on the armboard. Aftermarket white pads have been applied to the pillars that hold the record. You could remove these and fit new originals if you wish. They are just lightly stuck on. The original lid and hinges are present but the long rod that should go through the hinges to allow the lid to pivot securely is missing. It would not be hard to find or adapt a suitable rod to insert in its place. Bluetak has been applied to pad out the area under the armboard and the earth wiring has been modified. This is probably because the original earth wiring is very flimsy. A final quirk that I havent seen before is that you need to push down when you turn the on off switch to activate the reed switch. I havent seen this type of on/off switch knob fitted to these before. We can ship this turntable worldwide.
