I bought this amp new in the 90s and used it for a pair of passive subs, then the rear channels in a surround setup. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, I was using it in an experiment for work driving a piece of equipment and blew out one of the channels. I spent $100 to get it evaluated for repair, and the guy I took it to said it had enough damage to one or more of the boards that it would not be worth repairing. One channel still works fine though, so you could use it for a passive sub, a center channel, or a monoblock. Or just the parts. Cosmetically in pretty good shape; see the pictures. I do not have the original box or manual. Buyer to pay shipping via Fedex.

Up for sale is my Parasound HCA-1200 mkII. The unit is in working shape and sound very good. I have used as a L/R power amp for my home theater for the last two years. Includes the power cord in the picture The amp has two issues: 1) A prior owner cut the sides off on the front panel fins to I assume fit into a cabinet. This does not impact functionality at all. Was done by someone who knows their way around a metal shop as there are no rough edges to the raw metal. 2) The volume POTs on the back must stay at full volume (THX). If you reduce the volume, lots of noise gets introduced into the sound and becomes very scratchy. I suspect this is a cheap, easy fix with the right electronics cleaner. Otherwise, the amp sounds great!! Note: I included a few pictures of the circuit boards inside for anyone who is knowledgeable enough on this stuff. Auction for the lower 48 states ONLY.

If you reduce, there is a lot of noise introduced into the sound and very scratchy. I suspect this is a cheap, easy fix with the right electronics cleaner. Otherwise, the amp sounds great!! Note: I included a few pictures of the circuit boards inside for anyone who is knowledgeable enough on this stuff. Auction for the lower 48 states ONLY.
