CAUTION: The spring that holds the pinch roller down has been disconnected to prevent the pinch roller rubber from being deformed. The Ficord 1A of 1958 was actually a Stellavox SM4a recorder built under licence by Erskine Laboratories for Ficord Ltd. It has 2 speeds 7.5 & 1.78 ips . This machine was in the professional class of portables and was used by a number of broadcasters. The example here comes with its orginal microphone and battery charger . No batteries are included . It has notr been used for some while so may need a repair / service . A rare example of this machine form my own personal collection. Please study the photos for more information.
