The switches have been internally cleaned, and the whole unit deep cleaned and polished. The motor speed had been checked, and all cassette functions perform correctly. The headphone jack has been checked on the board and with headphones, and is solid - providing left & right channels reliably. The AVLS works effectively, and is demonstrated in the video. The battery terminals are shiny and bright, with no previous battery leakage. The battery door locks in properly. The overall condition is extremely clean, with only very minor wear for its 30+ years of enjoyment. It appears to barely have been used. The stereo has been tested with mains power and batteries at the time of listing, and a video taken for peace of mind. It can run off a 3 volt DC adaptor, or 2 ‘AA’ batteries (not supplied). All original knobs, switches etc present and in working order. Please see the photos of the actual item for sale, as they are an important part of the description. Sony WM-FX193 Walkman with FM Radio - Spares/Repair. Walkman in fantastic condition. Probably needs a new belt for the tape to play. Radio works

Selling these two vintage Sony Walkman cassette/radio players. These are the WM-FX193 (silver) and WM-FX17 (black) models and come complete with a set of Sony headphones. The bodies of both units are in great condition for their age and show only very light signs of use. The belt clip is missing on the silver one. The units have both been tested with the headphones and the radios both work fine. However the cassette players don’t function on either. The buttons can be pressed and the mechanisms appear to be trying to function but the cassettes won’t play, fast forward or rewind. It’s possible that both just need a good clean inside as they’ve not been used for many years. The battery compartments show some minor signs of corrosion but they have been given a clean and both units still power up as they should so this isn’t a real issue.
