I purchased it back in 1996 and used it for a couple of years. Since 1998 the tape deck has been stored in a plastic tote wrapped in towels for protection. I never had an issue with the tape deck back in the 90s. When I pulled the tape deck out for this listing the doors did not open. Turns out there are four rubber belts that needed to be replace which I did and everything works great. I even wiped some blank tapes. There are photos and video of the tape deck for reference. The manual says it supports Dolby B/C/S, HX-Pro noise reduction, and normal, chrome, metal tapes.
