New-Unused-Excellent-Very Good-Good-Acceptable-Junk Condition:Good Completed maintenance The dividing network has been adjusted. (Bottom right of the seventh photo) - The HPF film capacitor has been changed to a combination of Nichicon electrolytic capacitor MUSE and Toshin Kogyo PET film capacitor. - The electrostatic capacitance has been adjusted to lower the crossover frequency by about 400Hz. - The LPF electrolytic capacitor has been replaced with an Elna product. The capacitance is the same as the original. - Some of the attenuator cement resistors have been changed to metal oxide film resistors. The constants have been changed to adjust the output and impedance due to the capacitor replacement. - The position of the tweeter cable has been changed. A connection point has been provided on the board side to make it manually detachable. The polyester wool sound absorbing material at the bottom of the cabinet has been removed and replaced with a new PET hard felt. The existing wool has also been repositioned so that it does not block the bass reflex port. Appearance: Scratches and dirt There are almost no scratches on the cabinet exterior except on the bottom, but there are dents on the corners. (8th photo) Also, although it is very hard to see, there is a trace of something like tape on one of the top surfaces. (9th photo) The front net is clean with no holes or peeling. The coating on the tweeter dome has deteriorated a little. (4th photo) The binding post has been disassembled and cleaned with chemicals to the inside. The rubber bushings in the dowel holes that secure the front net are impregnated with a protective agent to reduce whitening due to deterioration. This is a Tannoy Mercury F1 bookshelf speaker. The following maintenance has been performed. Adjustment of the network Addition & repositioning of sound absorbers Adjustment of the dividing network. (Lower right of the 7th photo) - The film capacitor for HPF was changed to a combination of Nichicon electrolytic capacitor “MUSE” and PET film capacitor made by Toshin Kogyo. - Adjusted the capacitance and lowered the crossover frequency by about 400 Hz. - The electrolytic capacitor for the LPF was replaced with an Elna capacitor. The capacitance is the same as the original. - Changed some of the cement resistors in the attenuator to metal oxide film resistors. Changed constants for output adjustment and impedance adjustment due to the replacement of capacitors. - Changed the pull-out position of the cable for tweeter. Connection point on the board side to allow manual connection and disconnection. The ester wool sound absorbing material at the bottom of the cabinet was removed and a new PET hard felt was placed. The existing wool has also been repositioned so that it does not block the bass reflex port. ------ The cabinet exterior is virtually free of scuffs and scratches except for the bottom, but there are some dents on the corners. (Photo #8) Also, although it is very hard to see, there is a mark on one of the top surfaces where something like tape has been applied (photo 9). (9th photo) The front net is clean with no holes or peeling. The coating on the dome of the tweeter is slightly deteriorated. (4th photo) The binding post has been disassembled and cleaned inside with chemicals. The rubber bushings of the dowel holes for fixing the front net are impregnated with a protective agent to reduce whitening due to deterioration. A felt sheet is applied to the bottom surface. This is a casual passive speaker from the prestigious Tannoy. It features a bright applewood wood grain finish and front bass reflex. The sound is mild without being flashy, and the sound method disperses energy without biasing it. There is a sponge for adjusting the bass reflex, but it seems to be more stable in the open position. In the maintenance, a tune is applied to lift the midrange, which seems to be retracted. Almost all parts of the filter circuit have been renewed except for the coil, and electrolytic capacitors are used in the HPF to slightly assert the higher midtones. The urethane coating on the tweeter is deteriorated but minimal, so it has been left in place without repainting.
