The sound was excellent anytime it was playing any disc I tested it with, but the Laser Mechanism in the unit is probably original and will need servicing or replacement soon.....it moves slowly to commands. Lasers for this Model are around $70 for the Part. This is common with DVD Players to need this Part replaced.
