THEN, I tested a BLU RAY DISC, and it played the beginning, but without the SONY REMOTE, I was unable to get it to advance to the other Chapters. The sound was excellent anytime it was playing any disc I tested it with, but the Laser Mechanism in the unit is probably original and will need servicing or replacement soon.....it moves slowly to commands. Lasers for this Model are around $70 for the Part. This is common with DVD Players to need this Part replaced. The remote is NOT original but does work for this unit. The remote is a Sony RMT-B101A most functions on the remote work and are compatible with the unit.
