This listing is for a VINTAGE SHARP MINIDISC WALKMAN PLAYER RECORDER MD-MS701H, it is silver in color. Recording and playback were tested and item works fine. Please note: Only what is visible in the photos is included. PLEASE NOTE: This walkman has been restored so it is guaranteed to work properly. Type of restoration done: small plastic gear wheel that moves the laser was glued in place so it wont come loose, this is a common problem for many sharp minidisc players: even though the player might read discs because the wheel has not cracked yet, it wont be long before it does crack and you can no longer use your player. I have had this model brand new in the box and wouldnt read discs because the wheel has cracked due to age so it was required to be glued to make the player work again, many sharp models I have seen had this problem, so dont buy sharp models unless they were restored first.

This unit is in mint condition. It was working when I last used it but has been in storage for a few years all wrapped up in its box. The display shows the following error when reading the disc: TOC ERRORa. I have tried a cleaning the disc but no luck and would strip it down to realign the lens but I don’t have the time. This was a great little unit when I used it, it comes complete with all the accessories which include a rechargeable battery, power supply (UK), headphones, tote bag, and backlit remote control. Hi, This auction is for my old Sharp Portable Minidisk Recorder type MD-MS701H(S)2 which Ive had since new. As can be seen from the photos the unit still powers up from the original power supply which is included. Unfortunately the internal Lithium Ion battery is shot due to prolonged storage. The battery, which is intact and non-leaking, will be included for reference or authenticity. Please bare in mind that since I no longer have any disks that I can find to play and fully test the unit I am selling it as For parts or not working and will not accept returns. Sharp Portable Minidisk Recorder MD-MS701H(S)2. All working when plugged in but the rechargeable battery has given up the ghost so would need replacing for use on the go.

Rechargeable battery does charge but not sure how long the player will play per recharge – batteries are available elsewhere on eBay USB charger/ battery eliminator cable included.
