Description
Very reluctant sale of my cherished and much loved Rogers Export Monitor speakers, bought by me in 1976 after much research and listening in Hi-Fi showrooms, and I have never regretted the decision, but as my age increases and my hearing decreases I feel it would be best to pass them on to someone who can fully appreciate the wonderful sound these speakers give.Link to the experts page on these: https://www.markhennessy.co.uk/rogers/ls36.htm#rogers-export-monitor They come with the original stands, albeit they have had a coat of black Hammerite paint some years ago, if you want perfection then they could be repainted properly.I still have the original boxes for the stands and speakers, advertising flyer and Rogers brochure.Photos of the original receipt from Allders of Croydon showing the purchase price of £237 in 1976, which, in todays money, allowing for inflation would be over £1600, so still a bargain at my asking price. The Rogers badges are not original, they should be a bit larger and rectangular, but I removed them some decades ago, put them somewhere safe, so safe I now cant find them, but I bought 2 of the later Rogers badges about 10 years ago and fitted them instead. They have only moved house with me 3 times, each time boxed and carried in my own car for safe handling each time, they have now sat in the same position for 34 years, giving perfect service without any alterations or disassembly, all totally original. If you are looking for Rogers speakers then you know how good they are, so I shouldnt need to describe the wonderful pure sound these old school speakers give, and this pair are no exception, clear precise high frequencies (which my ageing ears can not really appreciate any more) and deep bass, which, as a lover of church pipe organs, I can get the 16 foot and 32 foot notes from my LPs, some of which are direct cut, and are a wonder to listen to, and of course they work perfectly when playing the best RocknRoll band in the world, The Rolling Stones. (It is my era). These are early versions (the best?) and have the heavy weight crossovers (LS3/6 ?) for precise cut offs to the 3 speakers in the unit. The Teak finish is very good, having been lightly sanded down about 12 years ago, and proper beeswax polish applied at regular intervals, but a couple of small nicks are present on one top edge if you look closely, but not really noticeable from normal distances. These are far too precious to entrust to couriers so are FOR COLLECTION ONLY, but they are well worth your travel here to see them and snap them up! Very happy to demo before purchase, just message me to arrange date and time
