Bi Directional Tape dubbing for two tape decks, Selector switch for Phono 1 and 2, Tuner and Aux 1 and 2.Bottom row consist of Power Switch, headphone input and bass and treble turnover frequency switches hi and low filter with two settings each, as well as Tone Defeat switch with two settings, Loudness two settings, bass and bass/treble. For parts SANSUI AU-777 Stereo Integrated Amplifier Description This is a pre-main amplifier sold by Sansui in 1967. The power amplifier section uses SONYs metal transistor 2SD46 in the output stage, configured in a quasi-complementary circuit, with an output of 25W+25W. It is a best-selling product that solidified the reputation of Sansuis transistor amplifiers. The input source selector includes Tape Head options for 19 cm/sec and 9.5 cm/sec, designed for the open reel tape transports of the time. It features an EQ circuit tailored to the emphasis characteristics based on tape speeds. The protection circuit detects overcurrent in the power transistors and cuts off the power supply to the intermediate amplification stage using a thyristor. If the protection is activated, simply turn off the power and lower the volume to reset. It has independent left and right tone controls, LOW and HIGH filters, and a Loudness feature (+8dB at 50Hz, +5dB at 10kHz), as well as a Presence switch (+6dB at 50Hz). The faulty volume has been replaced. Since the specifications of the VR are different, the circuit constants for the Loudness feature have been adjusted, so its effectiveness may differ from the original. Both phono and line inputs produce good sound. There is no noticeable noise from the switches. I applied anti-rust oil to the bottom plate as there was a bit of rust visible. The shape of the speaker terminals is an old design that requires tightening with a coin, so I recommend using Y-type crimp terminals sold by Nichifu for connections.
