I enjoyed this amp so much that I upgraded to PS Audios Stellar M700 mono blocks. I had a hard time deciding which amp to keep as the M700s were a bit cleaner but the S300 seemed to have more of a very pleasing holographic sound. I purchased this amp used a year ago and always wondered about the finish. I called PS Audio to ask why this amp had a brushed aluminum case rather than powder coated. I was told that the few Beta units had brushed aluminum before they decided to powder coat when they went on sale..

Im the original owner, purchased directly from PS when first released years ago. I am pretty proficient with mods, and upgraded the mediocre fixed +/- 15 analog and +5v digital regulators with high performing Linear Technology adjustable ones, set to the same voltages. It worked fine for several years, then one day....no analog RCA, XLR or headphone outputs. Just a low level hum in one channel, slight hiss in the other. Immediately I suspected the regs went bad, but they are all working perfectly. So the unit powers up, and all the remote selections work. As the analog stages are in sealed units, I cant get to them for repair. I believe thats where the problem lies.So thats why this is being offered as is..lots of beautiful casework, massive transformer, etc.Buyer pays shipping.
