Hello. I have owned the Proceed PRE and DAP at separate times and was impressed with the performance. I did not expect what I heard. The sound is wide open and uncolored. The midrange has a real purity to it. I would say it is a little bit romantic. The high frequencies are neither bright nor dark. Super smooth and detailed. Bass has power and control. Imaging is wonderful with the music just floating in the air - completely detached from the speakers. When I listen to my system with this amplifier in place, I can just zone out and enjoy the music. Very enjoyable and non-fatiguing. I liked it so much that I bought a Mark Levinson No. 331 power amp. I hear a lot of the same traits possessed by the 331. If you want a legitimate taste of what Mark Levinson amplification sounds like, here you go. I am an electronic tech by trade and have upgraded 100s of pieces of audio equipment. Upon removing the cover, I discovered that the 4 main filter caps were bulging on the top. A sign of inevitable failure. This is my 3rd AMP 2 and they've all been like this. I took my time to clean everything up and get the new caps installed which included 8 other smaller capacitors on the boards. Bass got a bit quicker along with overall transient speed. An amazing amp for the price compared to anything in its price range especially with the insane price of new HiFi. Plus, it is now reliable for several decades to come. The condition is good. A few scratches but looks good from the listening position. The previous owner tried to use paint to cover the scratches but it’s a bit lighter shade. See pictures. Yo are bidding on an Old School, but amazing pre-amplifier.  One Madrigal Proceed AVP-S, once called the poor mans Mark Levinson as he was the designer of all Madrigal products.  The remote control IS included. This pre-amplifier might not have the latest surround sound processing but can certainly be used for a gaming theater, or even better as a 2 channel preamplifier, because it will rival todays audio pre-amps at 90 percent the cost!!  This unit has had light use and was used in a home theater for about 2 years at only a couple of hours a week, and is in perfectly amazing condition from a functional and sonic stand point!  There is some minor cosmetic scratches on the top from installing and removing it from a mid atlantic rack.  Pictures clearly show any flaws, but looks amazing from all the angles that will show Bid with confidence as I am A Square Trader with over 1600 sales and 21 years on ebay with 100% Positive Feedback I only Ship to PayPal verified addresses Check out my other auctions!!  I have other collectables & watches

What we have for sale is theProceed Power Amplifier AMP2 These are the first generation of the Proceed ampsthat were a joint venture of Mark Levinson Labs and Madrigal Sound. These were hooked up to a Classe SSP-600Preamplifier Control Unit. This unit is in good operating condition with noproblems or shorts. This just does not get used enough to justify keeping.Besides that I have gone to a single receiver forsurround sound duty: and I have too many stereo set ups for music so these just are not used much and they need a good home. Manufacturer Description: This Proceed (Mark Levinson/Madrigal Audio Laboratories) Amplifier is a triple monaural design with three separate power amplifiers, one for each channel. It outputs 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and doubles to 250 watts into 4 ohms. It has the power you need to drive even very difficult loudspeakers. It is stable into 2 ohm loads. The amp is completely mono-block in architecture, with individual Plitron toroidal transformers, and power supplies with 42,000 microfarads of capacitance for each channel. The build quality is superb. The result is a very heavy amp (approx. 70 lbs.). My Description: This Proceed Amp is in excellent working condition as well as visual condition. There are no scratches on it. The unit was used from the time we purchased it new until Dec 2023 when we remodeled and changed to a different system.
