Hello. I have owned the Proceed PRE and DAP at separate times and was impressed with the performance. I did not expect what I heard. The sound is wide open and uncolored. The midrange has a real purity to it. I would say it is a little bit romantic. The high frequencies are neither bright nor dark. Super smooth and detailed. Bass has power and control. Imaging is wonderful with the music just floating in the air - completely detached from the speakers. When I listen to my system with this amplifier in place, I can just zone out and enjoy the music. Very enjoyable and non-fatiguing. I liked it so much that I bought a Mark Levinson No. 331 power amp. I hear a lot of the same traits possessed by the 331. If you want a legitimate taste of what Mark Levinson amplification sounds like, here you go. I am an electronic tech by trade and have upgraded 100s of pieces of audio equipment. Upon removing the cover, I discovered that the 4 main filter caps were bulging on the top. A sign of inevitable failure. This is my 3rd AMP 2 and they've all been like this. I took my time to clean everything up and get the new caps installed which included 8 other smaller capacitors on the boards. Bass got a bit quicker along with overall transient speed. An amazing amp for the price compared to anything in its price range especially with the insane price of new HiFi. Plus, it is now reliable for several decades to come. The condition is good. A few scratches but looks good from the listening position. The previous owner tried to use paint to cover the scratches but it’s a bit lighter shade. See pictures. Manufacturer Description: This Proceed (Mark Levinson/Madrigal Audio Laboratories) Amplifier is a triple monaural design with three separate power amplifiers, one for each channel. It outputs 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and doubles to 250 watts into 4 ohms. It has the power you need to drive even very difficult loudspeakers. It is stable into 2 ohm loads. The amp is completely mono-block in architecture, with individual Plitron toroidal transformers, and power supplies with 42,000 microfarads of capacitance for each channel. The build quality is superb. The result is a very heavy amp (approx. 70 lbs.). My Description: This Proceed Amp is in excellent working condition as well as visual condition. There are no scratches on it. The unit was used from the time we purchased it new until Dec 2023 when we remodeled and changed to a different system. This PROCEED PAV may or may not work. Its untested. It will include its original remote controller and AC power cord only. It powers up but does not respond to the front panel controls. I didnt test the remote controller.The unit has a smell of animal urine. Please examine the photos - they are the best description of its cosmetic condition.Its video section may be obsolete, but a working PAV was a very good sounding stereo preamp back in the day and still would.It measures 17 X 14.5 X 5 and weighs 15 Lbs.
