This is my center speaker I purchased new in the 90s. If you need a quality made, sound intensive front channel speaker, then look no further. Perhaps you need a front channel speaker, this could be the one. You will want to use banana jacks for the speaker wire connections, and make sure you use a quality speaker wire. This, and connecting to an amplifier yields the best sound. Due to weight, this is a local pickup auction. If you dont live in Indiana or nearby, do not bid. I have no plans to ship this speaker. This woofer is in clean, good to very good condition. The only detraction is some oxidation on the back side of the basket, flange, and magnet shield bell. The speaker was in a coastal home in Florida for a decade and, evidently, the salty sea air caused this. Otherwise, the cone and center cap look perfect. Plus, the cone suspension is permanent rubber instead of the decay-prone foam found on other brands. Lastly, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity and have never been soldered on the spades. And the plastic flange gasket is included as well. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds great—fast, detailed midrange and strong bass for the platform size. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 2.4 consistent with two woofers being series-wired for a net nominal 4 ohms in the CS10. Lastly, the basket measures 5¼” across the truncated sides (5?” on the rounded), it stands about 3¼” tall (with flange cover on), and the six mounting holes are all spaced 2¾” apart, c-t-c. Offered for your consideration is a pair of vintage Polk Audio part MW 4003 4 inch woofers, USA-manufactured in 1993. They were original equipment in my CS100 Monitor center channel speaker and were possibly used in other small Polk speakers from the 1990’s, but buyer is responsible for verifying their suitability for other applications.So, please take a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if these capable mid/bass woofers are correct for your needs. These Polk woofers are in clean, excellent condition. The cones are sturdy paper, poly-coated for extra strength, and have no flaws. Also, the voice coil dustcaps are perfect with no dents or dimples. Plus, the black-coated steel baskets and sharp “bell” magnet covers are in great shape as well. Also, the surrounds are foam, but they’re polyether that doesn’t fall apart over time like the old polyurethane does, so they’re still in great shape and very pliable. Lastly, the +/- input terminals measure the standard .205”, they’ve never been soldered, and I added small red circle decals on the positive side after the photos were taken. Overall, these mid/bass drivers are exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, these drivers have been fully tested and sound great with clear, detailed midrange and good low-end for the platform size. Plus, I tested their DC resistance at 3.5 and 3.7?, consistent with a 4 ohm nominal driver rating. Lastly, the baskets measure 4?” square, they stand 2” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 3¼” adjacent / 4?” diagonal, center-to-center. These are a nice find for someone that has blown or damaged 4” woofers in their CS100 or similar Polk model—your speakers will be sounding their best again in no time!As pictured and described, this pair of Polk Audio MW4003 mid/bass woofers is offered at a competitive price. Offered for your consideration is one (1) Polk Audio two-way, three driver crossover network removed from my CS100 center channel speaker, USA-manufactured in 1993. This crossover was used to divide two MW4003 4” mid/bass drivers from an SL1501 1” dome tweeter.So, please take a look at the large photos I’ve taken and read the remaining description to decide if this useful crossover network is correct for your needs. This Polk center channel crossover is in clean, excellent condition. There are no cracks or scratches on the faceplate. It features two capacitors, a resistor, and heavily-wired copper inductor. Plus, the +/- terminals are in perfect working order and hold speaker cable very tight. Overall, this crossover is very well preserved.Most crucially, it was recently tested to function perfectly with the factory drivers before cabinet disassembly. The crossover connects two 4 ohm mid/bass woofers in series for a net nominal load of 8 ohms. So, the mid/bass wiring goes like this—black wire to woofer #1 positive and white wire with black tape stripe to woofer #2 positive (both of the entirely white wires are negative). The tweeter, 8?-rated, is wired white to positive, black negative. In addition, I’ve neatly separated the woofer and tweeter wires with ties for the new owner’s convenience. This is a nice find if the crossover on your CS100, or other suitable Polk center channel speaker, is not working properly or has a broken input terminal, etc. Plus, it’s also ready for action in a center channel speaker-building project with the appropriate drivers of your choice and requires a 2” cabinet cutout.As pictured and described, this Polk Audio CS100 crossover network is offered at a reasonable price.
