This Pioneer 8-track deck plays 8 track tapes and switches between programs nicely. It does have a few flaws: 1. The light for program 3 appears to be burnt out, so it does not light up. But it does switch over and play program 3 without issue. 2. It is missing a plastic trim piece on the left side of the face (see photos). I have not tested the record function, so I do not know if it works. Other than that, a great unit in good shape that will play your 8 tracks well!

The Pioneer model H-R99 Stereo 8 Track Player Recorder is a vintage audio gem that still produces excellent sound despite needing some work. The unit turns on and plays, but there is no sound coming from the right channel. There is just a very weak signal with mostly noise coming from right speaker. The headphone also plays one side of stereo channel. I have not tested the recording feature as I dont have the equipment to test it. Cosmetically, it is in good cosmetic condition except for some rust on the top as shown in pictures. The face is nice, as well as the wooden side panels. This is a Pioneer Centrex RH-60 8-track Player/Recorder. Our service department has gone through and checked everything on this deck. The heads are cleaned and demagnetized; the transport has been cleaned and lubed. The track switching works fine and it records well. It has Microphone as well as Line Inputs, with Level Controls and VU Meters. There is a Fast Forward and Pause Button, also you can choose to play just one track, or the whole tape, or have it play endlessly. This is a nice, solid deck.
