Ortofon Model SKG-212 Tonearm. The tonearm looks very nice and shows only light general wear. It comes with the arm stand and Ortofon headshell. Vintage Ortofon SMG-212 tonearm, made in Denmark by Ortofon in the 1960s. As you can see, the arm is visually in very good to excellent condition, although the base has some blemishes (see photos 8 and 9). The end cap at the rear is a high quality replacement as the original cap broke, as is often the case with these caps. The armrest, which comes from a B&O turntable, fits perfectly and it is incidentally, also Danish-made. :-)) The internal wiring of the tonearm is 100% original and has NOT been rewired. In my opinion, the original internal tonearm wires are most critical to delivering the classic, full-bodied sound of vintage Ortofon tonearms. Rewired Ortofon tonearms, to say the least, have a different sound. Functionally, this arm is in perfect working condition. It has been fully tested and everything works as it should. It is perfect for use with early high mass Ortofon SPU G or G/T cartridges. Worldwide shipping by Speedpost (express service) US$60. For sale is a Garrard 401 turntable, this is the flush strobe version, the tonearm is an Ortofon SMG-212, both 401 and tonearm are in very good working order, the spindle bearing has been cleaned and lubricated, the motor runs smoothly and quietly, the cartridge mounted is a Stanton 680 EL. The platter will be removed and the transit bolts will be tightened for shipping.
