These crossovers were also used in the NS-615 and possibly other high-end YAMAHA two-way speakers. They were used to divide the JA-1801 7” woofers from the JA0518 1½” soft dome tweeters, both 8? nominal, at 2kHz. So, please see the large photos I’ve taken and read the remaining description to decide if these superb YAMAHA crossovers are correct for your needs. These YAMAHA NS-10M crossovers are in clean, excellent condition. There are no faceplate scratches, just a few tiny scuffs, and no cracks at the mount holes. Plus, the sturdy, steel reinforced +/- terminals have no issues and hold speaker cable very tight. As you may know, YAMAHA soldered all of the NS-10M driver connections, so I left a few inches of +/- wire attached to the woofer/tweeter terminals for the new owner’s convenience when splicing-in my replacement driver(s) to their speaker(s). Consequently, the woofer and tweeter wires are shorter than factory length on these crossovers and will need to be lengthened (or replaced) for use in NS-10M cabinets. The crossovers were tested in the NS-10M cabinets with original drivers and worked perfectly. They’re constructed of heavily wound copper inductors, resistors, and two large capacitors. Lastly, the plates measure 4¼” wide x 5?” high, not including upper and lower protruding lobes. They’re mounted from behind the rear panel so only the black center with terminals part is exposed. It requires a roughly 2?” x 3½” cutout if considering them for a speaker building project. The sturdy seamed white paper cone is in perfect shape with no cracks, stains, or yellowing, and the voice coil dustcap is dimple-free perfect as pictured! Plus, the surround is permanent textile, factory-coated for extra strength and durability, instead of the fragile foam widely used by most companies in the 1980’s. And, the black anodized steel basket is in nice condition with no dings, scratches, or oxidation noted. YAMAHA soldered all driver connections, so I’ve left a few inches of the +/- wires attached to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience when splicing-in to their speaker.
