Nakamichi engineers faithfully developed the power amplifier in this 30W/ch beauty from technology licensed from Threshold Audio and designed by audio legend Nelson Pass. It has extended Class A operating range like all of Nelson’s designs and packs a real punch to drive the most demanding speakers with unparalleled clarity at this power level. Check out the attached performance analysis images of this unit. The line level and phono preamp signal distortion is some of the best I have seen on equipment of this vintage and price point. The RIAA curve accuracy is excellent along with a very refined tone control set and ability to defeat the tone function if needed. It has an outstanding FM tuner, with 1st class stereo channel separation and excellent selectivity as a digital based tuner of this vintage. The Nak engineers wanted these components to bring world class performance to listeners on a budget. This unit has been carefully restored to its original performance and is a must for even the most decerning audiophiles collection.
