I am trying to sell of this whole Nakamichi 7 Series Stack PA-7 CA-7 OMS-7AII ST-7 for as less as possible as i need funds immediately. I bought from my friends collection who gave it to me several months ago. PA-7 : Both channels are recapped except the main caps still original as they work fine. Surge protection circuit was also rebuilt with new thermal fuses. Thermal paste is replaced and cleaned the unit inside out. BIAS is set at 40ma with heatsinks running at good temperature around 40C. CA-7 : Unit functions good and has a after market remote but it has all the exact functions with proper naming. If you have DIN cable for remote function you can control Devices like OMS-7s OMS-5s ST-7, CR-&A, Dragon and many more tape decks, also remote can adjust manual Azimuth in CR-7s. Only one button is missing but i am trying to using a button from OMS-5 to get this missing button added. OMS-7AII : Replaced belt and everything functioning properly all keys works ST-7 : i played both FM and AM and both play good, auto seek is working perfectly as well as manual tuning. Please read below for details: We are selling off service manuals from our old shop and that of another friendly competitor from the area. These were both very active repair shops in their day and the manuals got used! We will try to point out any flaws we spot other than ones visible in the pictures. There is often writing in the manuals but generally it is helpful service information to help fix a quirky problem a technician encountered while working on the unit. When it says service notes on back page or see bulletins on the front cover it doesnt necessarily mean they are in this manual! Often the bulletins were kept elsewhere in the shop. Looks to be in very good cosmetic condition. Comes with its original shipping box and product box. Shipping packaging inserts, manual and original remote. The remote looks to have never been used. I wonder if this was a return because the volume knob was broke. Then reclaimed and stored for many years. Tested the unit and the door tray opened and closed fine. It seemed to go through the functions just fine. It sure does run pretty quiet. I only tested one disc on it. Just took it out of the box and removed the transit screw, hooked it up ran one disc and went through most of the functions and then inserted the transit screw back in. Then placed the unit back in its box. I left the remote untouched. All that said and since this is an old electronic from 1986 and good quality unit. THIS unit is to be sold in AS IS condition. Regardless of what the description states or does NOT state. NO future partial refunds for ANYTHING etc. I want it to go to someone who is handy with them. If something happens, I certainly NOT interested in what your repair guy has to say, cost etc. Old electronics this is your risk totally. I am just giving you an opportunity to simply own a quality Nakamichi system to the audio hobbyist who respects it and appreciates it for what it is as it is. It will be packed and shipped in its original box with its packaging inserts. I will cut a piece a cardboard around the original shipping box to hide its identity. Nakamichi OMS-7 Cd Player - serial number V301-05474 Manufactured February 1985 This is one of the earliest TOTL CD Players by Nakamichi The pictures are of the actual unit you will receive Its in pretty nice shape aside from some scratches on the top All the screws are there for the cabinet The transit screw is gone but the brass transit posts are OK - I will tighten them for shipping. This is quite a heavy unit. The unit powers up - the tray opens and closes The laser assembly unit moves into position (I changed the disintegrated belt) The front panel lights up as it should - the motor spins the laser - the lasr moves into place It tries to read for about 10 seconds - then the green light goes off the Standby Indicator goes off and the CD Ejects Shipped well packed the same or next business day. I removed the dried up glue under the pad for the DIN Circuit board as I read that sometimes is problematic Beyond that - I dont have the ability or test gear to move on further. I did not change or fiddle with any pots I also read that the dual phillips DAC is one of the best.
