Up for sale is this excellent working order NAD 2400 Power Envelope 2 channel amplifier. It has been fully tested and sounds GREAT. ----------- 40 capacitors replaced. Aside from the 4 main filter capacitors, which are in good health, this unit has had all of its smaller electrolytic capacitors replaced. High quality low leakage/low ESR replacement electrolytic capacitors from reputable suppliers. Brands include Panasonic/Rubycon/Nichicon/etc ------------ Power supply updated The low voltage regulators have been uprated from the stock 500 mA to modern 1A genuine replacements and placed on heatsinks. ---------- Cosmetic condition is very good. Please make special note that small amounts of touch up paint have been applied where needed. The finish on these NAD amplifiers is very nice, but susceptible to wear through over time --- in particular along any hard corners. The touch up is not an exact match, but blends well provided you arent shining lights directly at the areas. It is not perfect, but it sure beats eye catching exposed bare metal. See pictures for an idea of what to expect in well lit conditions. Left front top corner (in the pictures) was the area in most need of a little touch up. ----------- This is a used vintage piece of audio equipment and as such is offered for sale AS IS. This NAD 304 is in excellent condition. Please see photos. It was originally wired for 240VAC, but I have replaced the power plug and modified the Power Switch Board for 120VAC operation per the Service Manual. The Audio Capacitors have been upgraded to ELNA and nichicon Bipolar, MUSE, etc. The Main Caps have been upgraded from 50V to nichicon 63V for longer life and reliability. The other Power Caps are nichicon, Rubycon, etc. Ive upgraded the Bias and Offset trimmers to Multi-Turn equivalents for more precise and stable adjustments. Ive also upgraded the Speaker Relay from 5 amp to 8 amp and cleaned the switches and pots with Deoxit D5 and Fader F5. Full refund within 60 days. Buyer pays return shipping. AFAIK, it was also the first integrated amp by NAD to feature a Class G Power Amp design before the Power Envelope terminology became popular. It is rated at 35WPC @ 8, with a whopping 5.5 dB of IHF headroom (120W @ 8, 160W @ 4, 200W @ 2) and a Damping Factor above 100. This early design also appears to have focused on speed, as the pre-driver transistors in the Power Amp are HiDef Video drivers with an fT of 150 Mhz. This little beast is ready to impress!
